King of the Jungle

The Lion Cub stood at the top of the mountain. He met each day with a roar. The sound echoed through the forest. Some animals scurried to their hiding places waiting for the Lion to appear. Others took note of the position of the sun and went about their day.
Every morning the Lion Cub roared at his family across the mountain range, angry and alone. Every night the Lion Cub stood atop the mountain as the sun set, sad and angry he roared into the night. The little birds matched his angry roar with song.

With every day, the Lion Cub grew angrier and tougher. The animals kept their distance from his angry roar. The Lion Cub’s family too, maintained their distance, respecting their vows. It was a difficult time for all.
Each day for what seemed like a very long time, the Lion Cub wished it were his last, and awaited permission to return home. Each day for what seemed even longer, his family would listen to his roar, hoping for the silence and knowing they could not answer.

Every morning he would seek solace from above as birds sang their strong sweet song perched upon the trees. Every night he would sleep more peacefully to the birds gentle song. And finally the day came when he moved beyond the mountain.
The sun shines on the top of the Mountain, and down throughout the jungle. Every morning the Lion roars with delight as he watches over the kingdom. The comfort of his presence is felt throughout the land. The birds know that any Lion can roar and shake the earth, but the most powerful rule with love.
