Empty recycle bin!
Once upon a time there was
a brand new computer, it sat on the shelf of a very
big shop, just waiting for someone to buy it
day after day people looked at the computer and moved
on, and the computer began to wonder why no one was
buying it
...
.... and then one wonderful
sunny morning a lady come into the shop and stood
and looked at the computer, after a few moments, one
of the assistants came over and asked if she wanted
any help. " Oh yes please, I think I would like
to buy that computer, it looks just what I need ".
The computer was very pleased
and soon found itself installed in the study of the
ladies house
After a few months of use the computer
was getting a bit slow and the lady couldn't understand
why, she was doing the same things day in and day
out.
But the computer got slower
and slower until she was about to despair of it -
but then a friend called who knew all about computers......
and so the lady asked him to have a look at her computer
and see if he could sort it out
. The friend
looked and found that the lady had never, in all the
time she had owned the computer, never ever emptied
the recycle bin, or done any of the uncluttering work
needed to keep it running well
So her friend set too and helped
her to do the necessary work so that her hard drive,
could now work efficiently once again
. She had
stored everything she had ever done on it, and it
was just too much for the little computer to take
-
Affter she had had the uncluttering
work done, the computer worked so well again that
she promised she would never allow all that rubbish
to stay in side any longer... she would regularly
empty her recycle bin
.
The computer is still working well today, even though
this was a long time ago, it is working well because
the lady had learnt to keep it cleaned up and rubbish
free
