Climbing the mountain - using a visually definable task to represent a struggle of any size, followed by the reward of loooking back out over the distance travelled (the territory) when the peak is reached.

Can also be used for trance induction or preparation to look at a problem less subjectively or from an alternate point of view. "You can [do/see] anything from the top of the mountain." Numerous variations and sub-metaphors available for any purpose, i.e. climbing above the clouds, cooler climate higher up the mountain, a higher road, etc.
